Abstract:

Scientific, standardized, and effective diet-specific measurement tools are necessary for evaluating the level of dietary management in the post-bariatric surgery population, which can help to improve the assessment effect, guide personalized treatment, prevent complications, and improve the patients' ability to self-management of their diets, etc. However, the existing assessment tools for the dietary management of post-bariatric surgery patients vary in their characteristics and applications. In this paper, we will review the characteristics, applicability, advantages and disadvantages, and application of dietary management assessment tools for post-bariatric surgery patients at home and abroad to provide a theoretical basis for the correct selection of assessment tools for bariatric surgery clinicians to promote the individualization of dietary management for bariatric surgery patients, and to provide an objective reference for the development of postoperative dietary management scales for bariatric surgery patients in accordance with local characteristics.
