Research progress of obesity and pancreatic diseases

Abstract:

The pancreas is an important metabolic and digestive organ in the human body, with both endocrine and exocrine functions. Numerous studies have confirmed the relationship between obesity and pancreatic diseases. Obesity increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, acute pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, and poor prognosis. This review integrates the epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and prognosis research of obesity-related pancreatic diseases, further discussing the therapeutic effects of weight loss surgery on pancreatic-related diseases. The aim is to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between obesity and pancreatic-related diseases for better prevention strategies.
