Research progress of bariatric surgery in the treatment of obesity with psoriasis

Abstract:

Psoriasis is a chronic immune inflammatory disease with protracted course, many complications and genetic background. It is reported in the literature that some patients with obesity who have psoriasis are troubled by metabolic diseases caused by obesity. After bariatric surgery, psoriasis has also been better alleviated while weight loss and metabolic symptoms have been improved. Bariatric surgery may improve the prognosis of psoriasis,specifically manifested as the relief of psoriasis skin lesions after surgery, the increase of therapeutic efficacy of psoriasis drugs, the decline of therapeutic drug level, and the low recurrence rate of psoriasis after remission. This article reviews the research progress of bariatric surgery in the treatment of obesity complicated with psoriasis.
