Application and effect analysis of metabolic surgery in the treatment of diabesity

Abstract:

Metabolic surgery has become one of the effective treatments for patients with diabesity. This article focused on the types, indications and complications of bariatric surgery and the clinical benefits of the surgery (including weight loss, improvement in glucose and lipid metabolism, and reducing the comorbidity of diabesity, etc). Finally, the authors elaborated that bariatric surgery could decrease the occurrence and delay the development of diabesity effectively.
