Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical effects and preliminary experience of high intensity focused ultrasound in the treatment of uterine myoma with abdominal obesity.

Methods

Five patients with uterine myoma and abdominal obesity who received HIFU treatment from May 20, 2019 to May 2019 in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital were selected. Analyze the treatment time, focusing time, power and recored the adverse reaction of five patients after teratment. The changes in uterine size, fibroid size and ablation area were compared pretreatment, 24 hours posttreatment and 6 months posttreatment.

Results

The average ablation rate of 5 patients was 59.8% at 24 hours posttreatment. The volume of uterus and fibroid volume decreased by 19.2% and 37.6% at 6 months posttreatment. Five patients had mild abdominal pain and lumbosacral pain after treatment. Three patients had vaginal secretion after treatment, and one patient had subcutaneous induration after treatment.

Conclusions

It had great clinical effects and safety of HIFU in the treatment of uterine fibroids with abdominal obesity, and worthy of further application.
